You should try to install PowerShell with the correct download. If you have an OS with several languages installed ( MUI Multilingal User Interface ), you must use a specific download ![]() ![]() You must take care of the fact that your OS may be english or localized ( German,Chinese,French.), you have to use the localized download if your OS is a XP Pro german or swedish You should take care to the fact you have many possible downloads corresponding to your operating system and the type of platform ( X86 for normal OS that's to say 32 bits, X64 for 64 bits OS and Itanium, but i am not sure that Sql Server Express 2008 is working on Itanium ). The good link for installing Powershell 1.0 is : If you have tried the 2.0 version, i don't think it is the good choice, it is only on the level CTP so not an official version Please, could you explain which version of PowerShell have you tried to install ? ( 1.0 or 2.0 ) ![]() Sincerely, it is the 1st time i heard that PowerShell install is failing.Īnyway, PowerShell is not really required for the install of Sql Server Express 2008 ( except when you want to have Sql Server Management Studio basic 2008 ) I have moved this thread to this forum because your install of Sql Server Express is failing
